About Us

Citizenship and Immigration Centre (CIC) is a law firm specializing in the areas of immigration, citizenship and refugee law. Initially, CIC’s focus was almost exclusively on appellate level advocacy before the Federal Court and the Immigration Appeal Division. At its inception, CIC limited itself to fixing problems and overcoming mistakes made by other lawyers or immigration consultants. Dealing with the mess created by other incompetent representatives was (and is) a significant part of our practice and we took (and continue to take) pride in our problem-solving abilities.

As a firm limited to appellate level advocacy, CIC gained significant experience and substantial knowledge of everything that can possibly go wrong in a case/file and how to fix it. Our clientele who had now become aware of our “problem solving” reputation in handling appeals, began asking us to expand our practice beyond appeals and to take their files from inception. After all, he who fixes a mistake is unlikely to make it himself. CIC thus shifted its focus and began expanding its practice beyond the mere confines of Federal Court and appellate advocacy and began accepting various cases and applications from their inception.

At CIC, throughout years of practice, we have acquired significant experience and expertise in representing numerous clients on their immigration and citizenship applications or when making refugee claims. The core of CIC’s practice consists of utilizing our expertise and knowledge to get you where you want to go, not where you have to go. Once you have made your decision to come to Canada or if you wish to bring your family members to Canada, our mission is to get you and/or your family to come to Canada as fast as possible and in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Alternatively, if you are already in Canada and you are experiencing problems in staying here or facing difficulty in keeping your status, our goal is to fight aggressively for your rights and keep you here permanently by obtaining or re-obtaining your Permanent Resident (PR) status.

At CIC we have what it takes – be it the staff, the depth of knowledge or resource – to solve your problem, whether you are in immigration detention and wish to be released or face a deportation order and wish it stopped. Family / spousal sponsorships, work permits, study permits and visitor visas are a central aspect of our business. We endeavour to reunite families from every part of the world. At CIC, we have successfully represented many clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board, be it in admissibility hearings or in appeals to the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD). In short, whatever your case is, our central and sole objective is to persuade the visa officer, the immigration official, or the judge to make a favourable decision in your case.

At CIC, when we take on your case, we do so based on a philosophy of mutual respect, integrity, trust and candidness. We are straightforward, to the point and candid as to what we can do for our clients. Our services include:
